What is your advising philosophy?
Developmental advising: understanding where the student comes from, where they are at, and where they want to go.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Getting to know students, seeing them grow, and watching them cross that stage!
What is the best class you’ve ever taken?
Environmental Science, Policy and Management: while I didn’t get to take the class as a student, I did get to be part of the teaching staff and had a great time learning & teaching US history through an environmental lens, especially how various ethnic groups related to the environment and in turn with each other.
About me (likes & hobbies):
On my free time, I can be found at a gym class, trying new restaurants and foods, watching Netflix or visiting my family in Watsonville.
What excites you about helping students graduate from SF State?
Helping students problem solve, working collaboratively with coworkers, and seeing students walk out of advising with much more confidence!
What advice do you have for SF State Gators?
If you don’t know, ask! If you do know, share!
