What is your approach to advising?
To create a safe, non-judgmental space, where the student feels comfortable to be themselves and share their experiences with me. I’m there to encourage, support, and provide guidance to the student in order for them to be comfortable and confident in their educational journey. If any challenges arise along the way, the student and I work together as a team to navigate through them.
What's the best class you've ever taken?
A psychopathology course that I took during grad school, and it also happened to be the most difficult course I’ve ever taken. I did not think I was going to be able to keep up with the class at first, which made me doubt if I should be in the program, but I stuck with it and ended up doing really well. It was the hardest I’ve ever worked in a class. I learned so much in that class, but I also learned about myself and what I was capable of.
