What is your approach to advising?
I am a firm believer that advising is teaching. My approach to advising is helping students acquire skills and knowledge that influences their head, heart, and hands. Their head - so that they can develop solid and critical thinking skills. Their heart - so that they can believe in the possibilities of maybe and see from multiple perspectives. Their hands - so that they can roll up their sleeves, dig in, and apply the knowledge they have learned from the classroom to the real world, and touch the lives of others. I am always mindful of my role with students, to facilitate and create opportunities for a successful and rich collegiate experience.
About me (likes & hobbies):
I love traveling the world, cooking, reading, movies, inspirational quotes, Disney World, children, etc. I am an ISTJ. My top 5 strengths are Deliberative, Achiever, Discipline, Analytical, and Intellection.
What advice do you have for SF State Gators?
Realize and accept the fact that there are going to be times in your college life where you'll be stressed or uncertain about the future. Push through and you'll see that it gets better with self-motivation and effort. College can be as good or bad as you make it. This is one of the best times of anyone's life -- a time where you get to experience new things, meet new people, and explore the world of knowledge.
