I take a person-centered, holistic approach mostly using MI and strengths-based perspectives. When a student is meeting whether by appointment or drop-in, I see it as an opportunity to draw them deeper into the SF State community by building relationships.
My experience with advising in my personal academic career was the initial motivator. My current advisor has strongly influenced my style of supporting students on their academic journey.

Unusual for me because I am really not a work boot kinda woman, but I was a driver's helper for UPS. It was fun and got me in shape!

I have a high value for nature in general. I enjoy any kind of water, gardening, music, cooking for others, photography, and travel. Travel is a great time to try new things, like white water rafting! Can't wait for the next trip.
