Erin Johnson

Academic Counselor

More about Erin (She/Her):

B.A. Psychology, UC Davis

M.A. Counseling and Guidance, San Jose State University

I take a very holistic approach to supporting students. Beyond academics, my goal is to help students flourish personally and professionally. I enjoy learning about each of my students as individuals and helping them harness their unique strengths and passions so that they can meet their goals. My door is always open for those seeking support and guidance!

As an undergraduate, I work various jobs in student affairs and academic affairs - tour guide, peer advisor, orientation leader - you name it! I gained valuable experience from these on-campus jobs and found working with students incredibly fulfilling. With the help of my mentors, I decided to pursue a career in advising!

I enjoy helping students make the most out of their time in college and helping them establish sustainable habits that they can take with them after they graduate.

I love being able to connect with folks from all walks of life! I learn so much from my students and am always excited to hear what they have to share.

In undergrad - History of U.S. Conspiracy Theories

My first job was working at a used bookstore in my hometown (which was home to several bookstore cats who I got to take care of!)

There's no "right way" to do college. What works for some people may not work for you - and that's ok! College is all about exploration, growth and learning about yourself. When you find what works for you, run with it.

In my spare time, you can find me on a walk in Golden Gate Park, reading a good book, playing with my cat, or cooking a new recipe!
