I have a holistic advising approach. Holistic advising is a developmental process that focuses on the whole student, taking into consideration all the complexities of a person. This allows me to have deeper connections with students and assist with developing trusting relationships between students, instructors, staff, and faculty.
I believe students strive when they are surrounded and supported by people who look like them and has similar experiences as them. I want all my students to feel supported academically and socially through my advising approach.
I get excited to hear all students tell me how I was able to foster success by relieve stress and/or anxiety pertaining to the student's academics.

Interpersonal Communications - In this course I was able to have a relational view of communication and explores how relationships are created, negotiated, maintained, and terminated between two people. From this I worked on improving communication skills and exploring the dynamics of interpersonal communication such as intimacy, communication climates and interpersonal conflict.
