I embrace a comprehensive approach to academic advising. Every student arrives at college with a blend of skills, talents, and aspirations. As an academic advisor, my primary objective is to assist students in recognizing and harnessing their strengths to attain their academic and professional goals. I also strive to connect students to college-based resources that enhance their personal and academic growth, ultimately fostering their success.

My passion for guiding and empowering young people to reach their full potential fueled my desire to pursue a career in advising. It's a role that allows me to share knowledge, provide support, and contribute to the personal and professional development of students—a pursuit I find deeply meaningful and gratifying.

I've benefited from various mentorship experiences in my higher education journey and am excited about paying it forward at SF State. With the diverse body of students at SF State, I am also enthusiastic about fostering a sense of community and belonging using my skills and knowledge.

My favorite part of the job is building relationships with my students and wholeheartedly supporting them on their path toward academic and professional achievements.

The best class I took in undergrad was an Anthropology course called “Culture and the Human Body.” This class delved into the diverse ways in which societies, social classes, ethnic groups, and genders shape our perception and use of our bodies. It was such a fun class that provided a comprehensive exploration of one's body's significance in the context of the mind/body division, industrial capitalism, medicine and healing, reproduction, and technology.

A less exciting fact about me is that I've never had an unconventional job.

Navigating the transition to college can be both exciting and challenging. Remember that it's okay to make mistakes and face challenges; they are all part of the learning process. College is a time for personal growth and exploration, so make the most of it by being proactive, staying focused, and seeking help when needed.

I love plants - they bring so much joy to me. I also love to read (occasionally), explore cute cafes and restaurants around the city, and binge-watch K-dramas sometimes.
