More about Tony:
San Francisco State University
Communication - making sure students feel comfortable communicating with me.
Being academically disqualified here at SF state and not knowing what to do to get out of it. The fear of telling my family that I was kicked out of school. Going through that really had me think about how I can help others, share knowledge through my experience as a first generation college student.
Being able to help them navigate the college lifestyle. Help them step outside their comfort zone.
Being a resource for students
It was a Mexican American history course at my community college West Los Angeles College. That's what really pushed me to become a History major at State.
Not unusual but I worked at the Santa Monica pier for my first job before I transferred to SF State.
"Closed mouths don't get fed." If you don't ask questions or reach out for support, no one will know how to support you.
I love Sneakers, coaching/playing soccer, spending time with my family, playing video games, and going to concerts and sporting events.
